Abstract
Rikke Van Johnson discusses his early years growing up in San Bernardino, California, including moving back and forth between San Bernardino and Alabama as a child. Johnson speaks about his 12 years serving on the San Bernardino City Council during a challenging economic period, including the city's bankruptcy declaration and efforts to revitalize the community. He highlights his work to improve infrastructure, attract new businesses, and reduce crime and gang activity. Johnson also talks about his involvement in the Hometown Hero Banner program to honor local veterans, and his leadership roles in his church, Ecclesia Christian Fellowship, where he serves as a deacon. Additionally, he shares details about his family life and his work experience as a postal worker and bail agent. He emphasizes his commitment to serving the people of San Bernardino and making a positive impact on the community through his roles and initiatives. Johnson explains the importance of mentoring young people, giving back to the community, and living out his faith through service and outreach programs at his church.
