Abstract

During Covid 19, college students have encountered several environmental and situational barriers that have negatively impacted their academic performance and engagement. The requirement to isolate at home has been a significant obstacle for students, leading to numerous distractions and difficulties in accessing online academic support while also causing a feeling of missing out and loneliness due to no on campus activities. Students reported not benefiting from online learning because of unexpected distractions at home either from family members or pets, along with unstable internet connections making it difficult to attend their online classes. The findings emphasized the need for training on programs used for transition to online learning(both available for staff and/or students), easier counseling service navigation, networking opportunities if even online, and social opportunities with peers.
