Summary
Tom Rivera interviewed Manuela Sosa and later her husband Randy Espartago Sosa, both locals from Colton. Manuela began the interview with her family background, such as moving from Mexico to the United States. In her early school days, Manuela dealt with prejudice which then continued even in her time in secondary education. With the support of her husband, Manuela continued to study for her dental career and successfully practiced for three decades. The couple then moved on to speak on their community activism, especially about the way they have helped students financially. Manuela and Randy created The Inland Empire Foundation Scholarship, which helped a large number of students with Hispanic and impoverished backgrounds. The interview ended with the couple going over their children and grandchildren as well as the best memories of being raised in Colton.
