Summary
Tom Rivera interviewed Rudy and Yolanda Zamorano, twins with a deep history in South Colton. The two interviewees recollected memories of being in grade school and of picking crops. Yolanda remembered having to secretly go against both of her parents’ wishes to graduate high school while her brother Rudy was forced to drop out. The twins had survived, alongside their large family, the Great Depression with their own hard work as well as from kind neighbors. After going over their own parents' history, Rudy went over how his time in military service was special as he gained so many opportunities that were absent in poverty. Once all discussed the impact of the Repatriation and of segregation, the twins talked about their respective best memories from living in Colton. The interview ended with Josie Zamorano, Rudy’s wife, recollecting her work experience and her marriage to Rudy.
