Summary

Tom Rivera interviewed Ernie Colunga and Rudy Ramirez, two artists originally from Colton. Both men talk about their organization, the Inland Empire Latino Art Association. The organization had helped in putting Chicano art in local exhibits as well giving scholarships and motivation to Chicano youth. After going over their own artistic mediums and coming across famous individuals, both interviewees wish to see art as a way to uplift the community, especially as the usual recognition is negative. Rivera followed up with a question about their local history, such as the neighborhoods the men had grown up in. There were also recollections of military service, the old-timers, and future plans for the organization. The interview ended with Colunga speaking about his days in the Boy Scouts.
