Summary
Tom Rivera interviewed Raul Gomez, a local musician from Colton. Throughout the recording, Gomez talks about his family’s history with music, playing in bands like the Sal Vasquez Band, and people he played music with. Gomez brought pictures and discussed members, specific songs, music genres, and briefly touched upon the fashion. The interviewee pauses his discussion on music to talk about memories of growing up in Colton. For Gomez, the best thing about living in Colton was his education. This then led to Gomez speaking on the obstacles while teaching in schools as a music teacher. The interview ends with the interviewee’s thoughts on music as a method of unity.
