Summary
"Growing up in Colton in the 40’s and 50's"
Dr. Tom Rivera has Ralph Medina and Ruben Aguilera talk about their family history and memories in South Colton, California.
Ralph’s parents were both from Guanajuato, Mexico. Ralph attended Garfield Elementary, Wilson Jr. High, and graduated from Colton High in 1948.
Ruben was born in La Habra and moved to Colton at the age of 5. He attended U. S. Grant Elementary, Roosevelt Jr. High, and Colton High.
Both Ralph and Ruben recollect interesting times in school like trading tacos for sandwiches, they share extensive memories of picking oranges and of the contractors who drove them to the jobs. They talk about playing sports in school, and they reminisce about Father José Valencia’s handball skills.
