Abstract
Grover Wimberly discusses his move from South Central LA to San Bernardino to go to college and describes his experience as the owner of Groove Time Records in San Bernardino and the ways they navigated changes in the music industry. He describes the economic diversity of San Bernardino, changes he’s seen in the community and some of his struggles watching economic decline affect the area around his business. He talks about some of the other old time record store owners in the region and some of the people he’s worked with for decades in the business. He shares his love of the city of San Bernardino and some of his ideas for how to reinvent the city, building on its history as a center of cruising and fast food empires.
