Mrs. Shehee explains how her husband became a seamstress and her occasional job as a teaching assistant at Kingsbury Elementary School. Shehee describes the support she received from Second Baptist Church, which helped her financially, kept her children’s behavior in check, and gave her a sense of place in her community.
