Abstract
A novel told in stories, A Wound Like a Lung looks into death and peoples' responses to death. It was inspired by a real taxidermist; "What kind of person becomes a taxidermist?" I asked myself. Rebecca Lebenzeit, the protagonist of these stories, is my answer to that question. Rebecca is obsessed with death from early childhood and continuously attempts to come to terms with it. She looks into religion and makes friends with Goths, but ultimately, she finds inner peace when she learns the art of taxidermy.
