Abstract
The purpose of this research was to investigate the Nucleoprotein (NP) RNA dependent RNA polymerase (RdRP) interaction by identifying and characterizing a NP mutant which maintains RNA binding but is unable to interact with the viral polymerase complex. Influenza poses a threat to human health and is a burden on the global economy. Influenza is caused by influenza virus which contains a segmented RNA genome, resulting in rapid evolution and emergence of new influenza subtypes which lead to pandemics.
