Abstract
The purpose of this study was to attempt to fill the gap currently affecting African American families in the child welfare system. To accomplish this, the study aims to identify barriers that may be contributing to failed unification attempts. Should confounding variables be detected, they could be addressed and utilized to assist future families in need of services.
