Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the characteristics which impede foster youth from achieving academic success in high school. Several of the characteristics which impede them from attaining their high school diploma are dependent on how many times they have changed placements. Moving to a new placement not only affects a foster youth's academic records and grades but it also affects their emotional stability.
