Abstract
The purpose of this study was twofold: first, it evaluated the spirituality or religion among health challenged individuals; second, this study was designed to encourage social workers to take into account the clients' spirituality and belief system. Examining spirituality among cancer patients will be valuable to social work practice and interventions because illness leads patients to use spiritual practices such as faith and prayer to cope with their illnesses. The data collected took place in Redlands Community Hospital in the city of Redlands. A sample of 44 volunteers was used including males and females of various ages. The data was collected through survey questionaires to the targeted population who were diagnosed with cancer.
