Summary
In this guest presentation at a Colton community center, cameraman Luis Fuerte speaks. Fuerte discusses graduating from Colton High School, his time in the Navy, and later at San Bernardino Valley College where he started majoring in rail engineering. After a tour by a friend at the KCET station in the college, Fuerte realizes his true passion. He then changes his major as well as his career path towards videography. While working for various stations, Fuerte meets Howser and starts a 12-year work relationship working for KCET on California’s Gold, a documentary series that shows interesting places and landmarks in the state. After returning to the station and learning about Howser’s illness, Fuerte attempts to have lunch and catch up but is told later that his old coworker has passed. Fuertes then speaks about his interesting times working on California’s Gold and discusses his love of the arts and working with youth. After he and Tom Rivera reminisce about their old Scout days, the interview ends with some brief announcements about a future meeting.
