Summary
Tom Rivera interviews Agustin Caldera, a Coltonite whose family had an important stay in South Colton history. The beginning of the interview is about Caldera’s grandfather Juan, who originated from Mexico and changed Colton's history forever. Due to his grandfather’s contributions to both business and community resources, the people of South Colton were able to live better lives. Caldera also discusses the ups and downs his grandfather faced. Especially, the issue of working around segregation in South Colton, and eventually the obstacle that was the Repatriation. Afterward, Caldera is asked about himself and his family. The interviewee describes his own time in work and the thanks he has for having the same working “genes” as his father and grandfather. Caldera then talks about his childhood being the best experience in Colton. The interview concludes with the topic of baseball.
