Summary
Tom Rivera interviewed Frank Aguayo, a man who has lived most of his life in Colton. Aguayo himself has deep roots as his great-grandfather and his family were some of the earliest people who settled in Colton. As the interview goes on, Aguayo recollects the times he spent in South Colton as a youth and the area belonging to 5th Street. Particularly, he discusses the role the Korean War had on him as a struggling teenager in poverty. After detailing his four years in the service, the interviewee tells the story of how he met his future wife in the old Valley Ballroom. Aguayo and Rivera also discuss the many locations of old South Colton that are now long gone and dearly missed. By the end of the interview, Aguayo explains why his favorite memories of living in South Colton were respect and loyalty.
