Investigation and Exploration of Charlotte Homicides

Prior to 2014, the city of Charlotte, NC was experiencing significant declines in rates of violent offending. Since then, the city has experiences a 102% increase i the number of homicides. Many, governments officials and scholars are unable to communicated why this crime and others have drastically changed recently. This research explores the conundrum and shine light of homicides. Emphasis will be placed on developing innovate visualization tools to communicate these homicides. Data regarding the 87 homicides in 2017 was collected to examine differing relationships to gain a deeper understanding of the spatial locations of these crimes.
