Abstract

This is the story of Colby Cairns, small town daughter of a mortician mother and a truck-driving father. Set primarily in Yuma, Arizona, this story follows Colby's life throughout the 1970's and 1980's as she comes to terms with the nature of love, death and sexuality. Accompanied by her best friend, Colby learns important lessons about what it means to be different, to be loyal and ultimatey, what it means to be loved.
