Abstract
Marion and Charlotte Black discuss racism in the United States Air Force and the African-American military experience. Marion Black was an auditor and Human Relations Air Force personal with the role of easing racial issues within the military. In 1976, the Blacks were stationed at Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino and settled down in Rialto, California. Charlotte Black became an elementary school teacher for the Rialto School District and eventually went on to teach at California State University San Bernardino for the teaching credentialing program. When both Marion and Charlotte retired from their positions, they became more involved in their community and joined various organizations like Kiwanis Club, Urban League, Rialto’s Chamber of Commerce, and joined the Ecclesia Christian Fellowship.
