Abstract

This article describes a final research project for use in social research and/or sociology methods courses. The assessment is based in principles of project-based, cooperative, and process-oriented learning. The article includes a summary of the pedagogical frameworks that guide the assessment; a description of the assessment; instructions, rubrics, and materials for use in the classroom; and a plan for instructors to evaluate the effectiveness of the assessment.
